About the Scholarship
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarship in Germany offers funding for international undergraduate (in later semesters), graduate, and doctoral students. This scholarship aims to support highly talented students who are actively engaged in social and political issues, promoting the foundation’s values of social democracy, equality, and justice.
Eligible ASEAN Countries
Applicants from developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, excluding OECD countries, are eligible. This includes ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

- March 1 for summer semester admissions
- September 30 or October 31for winter semester admissions
Eligibility Highlights
- Proficiency in German is usually required (e.g., DSH 2, TestDaF level 4, or Goethe Institut C1 certificate), even for programs taught partly in English.
- Must demonstrate above-average academic performance.
- Undergraduate students must be in their later semesters.
- No strict age restriction, but academic progress and maturity are considered.
